Professional Life
Sina Sarlak’s musical journey began in childhood under the tutelage of his father, Bahram Sarlak, a distinguished musician and artist from Lorestan province. He was initially trained in Bakhtiari folk melodies (Luri music). At the age of seven, he performed a local folk song in the television series Shakheh Tooba, which aired on IRIB Channel One. Following this, he pursued formal musical training with great dedication.
He started learning tombak in his hometown of Aligudarz under the instruction of Hassan Rezaei. To refine his skills, he later moved to Isfahan, where he studied with Jamshid Mohammadi, before undergoing six years of rigorous training under Naser Farhangfar. Sarlak earned first place in vocal and tombak performance in multiple editions of the Fajr Music Festival.
His vocal artistry caught the attention of Ghorban Soleimani, who introduced him to the legendary Mohammad-Reza Shajarian. Under Shajarian’s mentorship for eight years, Sarlak mastered Persian classical vocal radif and advanced vocal techniques. Additionally, he studied tar under Keyvan Saket for a period.
In March 2004, Sarlak was recognized as an Exemplary Young Artist by the National Youth Organization of Iran for his contributions to the arts.
